How Embarrassing
New Zealand risks becoming infamous for its adherence to idiocy. Recently, the country starred on Fox News.
Transgender weightlifter’s gold medal sparks new debate

Should transgender persons be allowed to compete by sex or by gender identity? A women’s rights group demanded action after a transgender weightlifter dominated a recent tournament and is free to compete at next year’s Tokyo Olympics. The controversy stems from Laurel Hubbard’s performance at the Games in Samoa earlier this month, where she won two golds and a silver in three of the women’s heavyweight categories.

Women’s rights groups say that Hubbard, who competed for New Zealand in men’s weightlifting before her transition in her thirties, is having an “unfair” advantage against women and shouldn’t be allowed to compete in the Olympics in the women’s category. New Zealand-based lobby group “Speak Up For Women” called on the country’s Olympic committee and sports minister to “defend women’s sport,” Reuters reported."Speak Up For Women" is facing a long walk up Iwo Jima hill. Will they win control of the mountain? Not a hope. They are themselves infected with same poison that runs deep in the veins of their opponents. Consequently, they are beaten before they start.
“Kiwis (New Zealanders) know that males competing in women’s sport is blatantly unfair,” the group’s spokesperson Ani O’Brien said. British group “Fair Play for Women” also recently urged the sport authorities to “wake up” after Hubbard won the titles and argued that sports must be separated by sex rather than gender identity. . . .
It's as if "Speak Up For Women" valiantly started up Iwo Jima's mountain side in full combat gear to do battle with the dreaded trans-genderists. But then, suddenly, it discovered it was attempting to walk without feet. Its collapse was swift, albeit sadly predictable.
What do we mean? Well, its manifesto tells us what banner they march under:
Principles as agreed by the Speak Up For Women membershipThe Trojan Horse is to be found in Principle 8. "Sex" we are told is immutable; it cannot change. But "gender" is as fluid as the rivers of blood, sweat, and tears flowing down Iwo Jima during WWII. Gender is something society makes up and defines. Consequently, this would make gender the logical determinant of the terms and conditions of sports competitions, not sex. Are not sports competitions controlled and directed by corporate rules and regulations made up as we go along?
1. Women are adult human females; girls are human female children.
2. Women and girls have the right to live free of violence, including sexual abuse or violence.
3. Women and girls have the right to organise and gather in safe, sex-segregated spaces.
4. Women and girls have a right to reproductive sovereignty.
5. Women and girls have the right to live free from commercial sexual exploitation.
6. Women and girls have the right to economic independence, pay equity, and living wages, including that which pertains to reproductive labour, child-raising, and domestic work.
7. Lesbians are exclusively same-sex attracted females and have the right to assert their same-sex attraction without facing harassment.
8. ‘Sex’ refers to the biological characteristics that distinguish males from females. Sex is immutable. ‘Gender’ refers to the stereotyped roles, behaviours and attributes that society at a given time considers appropriate for males and females.
There is absolutely nothing in the Rules of Engagement that stipulate, require, or demand that competitors be organized according to sex, not gender (even if we granted a meaningful distinction between "sex" and "gender". And if there were it would represent nothing more than unjust prejudice on the part of these sexualists.
