‘Gosnell’ DVD Hits #1 New Drama On Amazon
Cracks Top 10 Overall Weeks Before Release Date
By Paul Bois
The Daily Wire
"Gosnell: The Trial of America's Biggest Serial Killer" will not be available on DVD until February 5 but that certainly has not prevented the film from earning the number 1 spot in New Drama at Amazon from presales alone.
"One of last year's most controversial movies has made history with record-breaking DVD pre-sales on Amazon - topping the best-seller list and overtaking big Studio backed films," the "Gosnell' marketing team said in a press release given exclusively to The Daily Wire. "With three weeks until the film’s release date, pre-sales have already put it as the number one drama and number 4 best selling DVD on all of Amazon."
As of this writing, "Gosnell" stands at number 3 in the Dramas and number 12 in bestselling DVDs overall. Screenshots were provided of the film's placing prior to this report.
Written by The Daily Wire's own Andrew Klavan and directed by actor Nick Searcy ("Justified"), the movie tells the horrific story of the arrest, trial, and eventual conviction of notorious abortion butcher Kermit Gosnell, who was found guilty on three counts of murder in the first degree against three babies born alive during his procedures. The film primarily focuses on the mainstream media's disinterest in Gosnell's trial throughout its run.
Producer Phelim McAleer said in a statement that the film's presale success on Amazon provides a solid indication that people are hungry to learn about the truth. "There is an enormous appetite for this kind of film that tells the truth," he said. "People are fed up with being fed movies that attack their values and misrepresent the world. There is a real hunger for Gosnell and our record breaking sales prove this."
"Gosnell" surpassed box-office expectations on its first weekend of release back in October 2018 by entering into the Top 10 grossing films with a revenue of $1,235,000 on just 668 screens. As the film entered week 2, however, the film was inexplicably dropped from nearly 200 theaters, including those in major cities where it was performing the strongest.
John Sullivan, the film's marketing director who also served as a producer, told The Daily Wire at the time the drop could not be written off as a mere coincidence or "business as usual."
"I can tell you from my experience in 15 years of releasing movies independently, we’re in uncharted territories," Sullivan told DW in October. "It is an impacted fall, no doubt about it, but the fact that we’ve been dropped from theaters where the movie is the number 6 or number 9 movie is just something you don’t see."
The makers also allege that media outlets refused to carry advertising for the film while Facebook outright blocked ads from being shared.
"NPR and the New York Times refused to carry advertising for the film and Facebook blocked over 50 advertisements on their platform," read the statement released on Monday. The film grossed $3.6 million during its theatrical run on a production budget of $2.4 million that was spearheaded by a wildly successful crowdfunding campaign.

"Gosnell" Considered A Blasphemy Against Secularism's Holy Temple
Shut It Down! Shut It Down!
“Gosnell” Director Nick Searcy Slams Hollywood
Life News.Com
Despite its strong performance on its opening weekend, where it ranked in the top 10 of all movies nationwide, theaters are now censoring the “Gosnell” movie profiling murderous abortionist Kermit Gosnell — who was sent to prison after killing babies in live-birth abortions. Actor Dean Cain complained about how over 200 movie theaters stopped showing the moving — including theaters where it was performed well.
Now, “Gosnell” director Nick Searcy is upset with Hollywood as dozens more theaters have dropped the movie from their roster this week. “This movie really exposes something that the Left does not want to report about,” Nick Searcy, the film’s director, told PJ Media in an interview Tuesday. “They’re basically trying to ignore this movie. They’re trying to say that it doesn’t exist because they don’t want to have a discussion about abortion.”
Here’s more from PJ Media about the 253 movie theaters in total that have already abandoned “Gosnell:”

A Movie So Compelling Hollywood Had To Ignore It
“Gosnell” Movie Breaks Top 10 Nationally Despite Media Blackout
Steven Ertelt
LifeNews.com
Despite a media blackout and virtually no coverage outside conservative media circles, the new movie “Gosnell” made the list of top 10 movies across the United States over the weekend. Coming in at the #10 spot, Gosnell came in ahead of other movies with much wider releases — as the film is appearing in just 673 theaters nationwide.
CDespite the more limited release, Gosnell outperformed A Simple Favor, The Nun, and the blockbuster film Crazy Rich Asians. Every other movie except for one that appeared higher in the weekend top 10 list was shown to Americans in thousands of theaters. It was also the only movie to gain in audience on Sunday, with over $1.23 million in ticket sales though the weekend. Every other movie saw a Sunday dropoff.
Had Gosnell opened in 2,800 theaters like other movies in the top 10 list it would have finished in 7th place for the weekend — making it more popular per theater than The House With a Clock in Its Walls and Bad Times at the El Royale.
But those who are watching the movie are giving in tremendously high ratings. It has a 67% rating at Rotten Tomatoes and 99% of those viewing it said they liked it. Here are some of the reviews:
He is the abortion practitioner who killed babies in live-birth abortions that were more akin to infanticide than abortion. The media virtually ignored Kermit Gosnell until the pro-life movement launched a concerned effort to call them out on their bias during the early stages of his trial for murder.

“Well-acted and compelling. Even without going full-on graphic, the film achieves real power,” says Mike McGranaghan.Gosnell unmasks the shocking true story of the investigation and trial of Kermit Gosnell, a man who performed countless illegal, late-term abortions and murdered several born children as well.
“Perhaps we should be glad that mainstream Hollywood, just like the mainstream media, had no interest in this story. It’s almost impossible to believe they would have told it so well,” adds Megan Basham.
And Christian Toto adds: “Gosnell delivers one of the most chilling portraits of evil we’ve seen in ages.”

Gosnell--The Review
The Most Important Movie You’ve Never Heard Of
By Michelle Malkin
National Review Online
Gosnell: The Trial of America’s Biggest Serial Killer debuts in theaters nationwide on October 12. I do believe this groundbreaking film by indie producers Phelim McAleer and Ann McElhinney is the most important movie in America right now — a true-life saga of good vs. evil, deadly medical malpractice, systemic government malfeasance, and cultural apathy toward the most vulnerable members of our society.
I first reported on this real-life horror story nearly eight years ago, but you’ve probably not heard or read a word about Gosnell in the mainstream press, TV news, or online. The conspiracy of silence is the result of both malign neglect and active suppression of inconvenient truths:
One CNN commentator flippantly explained that the network’s lack of interest was a “business decision,” not bias.
Pro-abortion censors at crowdsourcing giant Kickstarter banned McAleer and McElhinney from raising money for the project — leading small donors across the country to help conduct the largest-ever crowdfunded movie on Indiegogo. (Full disclosure: I put my money where my principles are and donated three times, in addition to using my social-media platforms to lend a hand.)
Taxpayer-supported National Public Radio refused to run sponsored ads describing Gosnell as an “abortionist” because its legal department determined the accurate description violated the left-leaning network’s “value-neutral” platform. LOL.
And this past week, Facebook banned advertising for the movie — a continuation of its systemic crackdown on conservative speech.
What are they trying to hide?

The Evil Face of Facebook
Facebook Stifles Ads For Film On Abortion Monster Kermit Gosnell
Producer: 'Facebook is censoring this story and destroying our attempts to get the news about this film out to the public.'
Rich Cromwell
The Federalist
In the face of Russian attempts to sow discord, Facebook has attempted to take on the mantle of benevolent dictator. The social media giant has issued bans and threats for small reasons and occasionally memory-holed other content for ostensibly bigger ones. Never mind that those actions all seem to move in one direction — Facebook is just looking out for you.
On May 24, Facebook expanded its dedication to providing content as it sees fit to “boosted” and “promoted” posts, that is, posts made on an official page which the owner pays to promote in an attempt to reach a wider audience. It’s under this policy that the movie “Gosnell: The Trial of America’s Biggest Serial Killer” found itself being censored by the tech behemoth.
The makers of the film say Facebook is refusing to allow them to promote their film. Facebook says their problems are due to not being a verified page.
“Gosnell,” the story of infamous abortionist Kermit Gosnell, opens Oct. 12. Its producer, Phelim McAleer, naturally wants to publicize the film as much as possible. He told me why he made the film:
Even making the film was an uphill battle. McAleer noted the difficulties in getting it from concept to the screen. “The Silicon establishment do not want this story told,” he said. “Kickstarter refused to let us crowdfund to fund the film and NPR have just rejected us from advertising the movie on the taxpayer funded station. Now Facebook is trying to censor the movie by preventing its creators from advertising on Facebook. They really, really don’t want this story told.”
As abortion is a political issue, and one that divides partisans more starkly than almost any other issue in modern America, Facebook found the posts to be in violation of its standards limiting political expression and wouldn’t approve the promotions. Granted, this story shouldn’t be a political issue other than guaranteeing women and children never again suffer at the hands of such a monster, but apparently it’s better to focus on the word “abortion” than on the story.
Censorship Cuts Both Ways
While it may seem to be an attempt to merely silence conservative voices, the social media company doesn’t limit its censorship to one side.

We are journalists and film makers and this is an incredible story. I’ve spent 25 years as an investigative journalist and this is one of the biggest stories I’ve ever worked on and it went largely unreported. This is a true story that was not reported on by the mainstream media in a meaningful way. There are real victims here whose story deserves to be told and we’ve set out to shine a light on the crimes of Gosnell and how the government allowed him to operate for 17 years without protecting women and children, which is what journalism is supposed to do. We want to tell the truth because it is extremely important that people have the facts before they make a decision‒especially with so many partisan journalists believing they are part of a political movement‒not reporting the facts as they are supposed to do.

Letter From America (About Its Worst Serial Murderer)
It Sure Changed My Mind
Kate Scanlon
TheBlaze
Although Dr. Kermit Gosnell, a convicted late-term abortionist, has been called America’s “most prolific serial killer,” he arguably remains almost as unknown as the infants he killed, the authors of a new book about the doctor contend.
In an interview with TheBlaze, Ann McElhinney and Phelim McAleer, the producers of the movie “Gosnell,” said that they wrote the book, “Gosnell: The Untold Story of America’s Most Prolific Serial Killer,” in order to share details of the case that couldn’t be included in the film. The book explores the life and crimes of the convicted killer, as well as the trial that put him behind bars.
In 2013, Gosnell was convicted of performing abortions beyond Pennsylvania’s 24-week limit, three counts of first-degree murder for killing babies born alive and the involuntary manslaughter of 41-year-old Karnamaya Mongar, a refugee who fled war-torn Bhutan.
Gosnell would sever the spinal cords of infants who were born alive with scissors in a process he called “snipping.” The book details the conditions of Gosnell’s West Philadelphia clinic, dubbed a “house of horrors” by prosecutors, where filthy conditions, unsanitized equipment and unqualified staff were the norm. McElhinney likened the clinic to “the darkest circle of hell.”

Hollywood Bigotry
Cutting In One Direction Only
OK--it's confession time. We confess to being greatly entertained when the hypocrisy and self-serving cant of Hollywood gets exposed. Someone observed recently that Hollywood, the media, and their collective product have long been the greatest export of the United States. It has made the United States "plastic fantastic". Who would criticise such a starlit vista, such an orgy of self-congratulation?
Hollywood has a great deal of self-respect. It sees itself as the conscience of the nation. Like the USS Enterprise it goes boldly, where no man has gone before. It pushes the boundaries. It confronts the nation's ills. It starts conversations we all apparently need to have. It shames the wicked and bolsters the weak, the outcast, and the minorities. The Entertainment Complex sees itself as a Saviour, a Messiah, the guardian of the nation.
Of course all this is self-inflated rubbish, but it feeds gigantic insatiable egos--and so goes Tinsel Town. Thus it never fails to be deliciously ironic when the cant, the narrow mindedness, the self-reinforcing, perverse echo chamber is exposed--as it has been a thousand times, and likely will be a thousand times more.
The most recent example was the thumbs down given to a movie made about Dr Gosnell and his Abortion House of Horrors.

Slave Traders' Lobby
Gosnell, Abortion, and Slave Trading
One of the finest pieces yet to emerge about convicted murderer, Dr Gosnell's House of Abortion Horrors has been published by The Witherspoon Institute. It has been written by Matthew J. Franck who is Director of the William E. and Carol G. Simon Center on Religion and the Constitution at the Witherspoon Institute.
The thing about the Gosnell case is this: you can get outraged over the death of innocent women who died at the hands of Gosnell's ministrations due to the squalor, filth, and brutality of his surgical interventions. Plenty of people have. Or, you could get angry over the purposive and deliberate actions of Gosnell and his staff to murder babies who had emerged from wombs alive (Gosnell "specialised" in late-term abortions). People have. But if you then go on to assert--as millions do--there are no problems whatsoever provided those same babies died whilst still in the womb due to Gosnell's actions, then your conscience has become as dead as one of Gosnell's victims.

Schizophrenia is no less schizophrenia if one of the voices happens to be talking sense. Hard schizophrenia is no less difficult if murderous insanity is linked up tight with weird, pathetic, and arbitrary scruples. In fact, if such an arbitary pattern is applied long enough, one may detect a method in the madness.
I am talking about our erratic public policy when it comes to protecting human life. Gosnell is a disgrace because he killed babies in this spot instead of the officially-approved that spot. As one observer noted, he is apparently being charged with murder because he enjoyed himself and because his place was dirty. If he had only kept his slaughter hygienic and had been snipping spinal columns for the sake of the Constitution, instead of doing it for his own jollies, and had done his work before that magic and metaphysical week after which responsible medical professionals cease dismembering their clients' babies, he could have served as a witness for his own prosecution.
In the meantime, the kidnapper of three women in Cleveland is facing murder charges for brutally causing a miscarriage, and for doing so without a medical degree.

One
of the most ingenious and effective strategies of the Left on any
number of topics is to frame the debate and co-opt the language so
effectively that it becomes all but impossible even to discuss the
subject honestly. Take the brothers Tsarnaev, the incendiary end of a
Chechen family that in very short time has settled aunts, uncles,
sisters, and more across the map of North America from Massachusetts to
New Jersey to my own home town of Toronto. Maybe your town has a
Tsarnaev, too: There seems to be no shortage of them, except, oddly,
back in Chechnya.

Imagining How Planned Parenthood Might Respond to Gosnell
Trevin Wax|In light of the recent trial of the abortion doctor, Kermit Gosnell, Planned Parenthood continues to stand with women across the country in reinforcing the importance of access to abortion that is safe, legal, and common.
The actions of Dr. Gosnell and the atmosphere of his clinic for reproductive health do not represent the experience of women who visit Planned Parenthood for access to birth control and other reproductive services.
Here are some important differences to keep in mind:

Our Gosnell Gulag
Culture and Politics - Sex and Culture
Written by Douglas Wilson
Saturday, 20 April 2013
The Gosnell moment, for that is what it is, presents a clear opportunity for a real change of cultural heart. There are moments when some suppressed or ignored horror comes sharply into focus, and after that, it is not really possible to go back to the way it was before. This is what happened when Solzhenitsyn published his Gulag, for example. Something that had been successfully accommodated became impossible to accommodate any further. It was a conscience moment, which, given the nature of the case, most often come to us unsought. But they do come.
This is that kind of moment for us. This is an atrocity that has rocked even many "choice" advocates, and the media has been suppressing it for clear and obvious reasons.
