A Lone-Wolf Killer Is Never Alone

Vigilantism and Lawlessness

A lawless society is one where, ironically, people take the law into their own hands.  We have seen yet another example, in this case from the United Kingdom.  A man from Wales, father of four, decided to be judge, jury, and executioner on his own account, and used his van as a weapon, running down an entirely innocent person.  He committed murder.  The great, eternal indictment of God now stands against him: "Thou shalt not kill".

It's early days, and we don't yet know enough about the individual involved.  Initial reports indicate that he was a troubled individual, estranged from family and friends, acting bizarrely at times.  It is possible that he was becoming progressively unhinged and manic.  For whatever reason, he determined that he would kill some Muslim people, despite having Muslim acquaintances with whom he was on friendly terms.

Somewhere along the line he decided to take the law into his own hands.  He would "set things to right".  He would help relieve Britain of the lawless, murderous terrorist attacks inflicted upon it almost daily by Islamic insurgents.  He would exact vengeance and murder some Muslims on his own account.

Why do people take the law into their own hands?

Embarrassing Advocate Proves a Point

Charlie Hebdo, Hate-Speech and the Marianas Trench

When it comes to the rights of free speech the Western world is in a bit of a pickle.  Over the past twenty-five years, free speech rights have been steadily undermined.  "Hate speech" has become a crime, which is to say that any speech a particular statute d'jour just happens to say is "hate speech" is, by definition, a crime.

Wikipedia provides the following definition:
Hate speech is, outside the law, speech that attacks a person or group on the basis of attributes such as gender, ethnic origin, religion, race, disability, or sexual orientation.
The article then goes on to review the present state of "hate speech laws" as they apply in various countries around the world.   Regardless of the specifics of the French legal code, in a general (Western) sense the satirical magazine, Charlie Hebdo has been repeatedly guilty of the crime of hate speech.  We might as well face up to it. Charlie Hebdo scathingly satirised people and cultures for their respective religions.

Breivik's Brethren

The Spirit of Terror in the West

Notorious killer, George Zimmerman has been released on bail.  Thus far, his notoriety derives from the apoplectic narrative coursing through sections of the US media.  Zimmerman, a community crime watch patrol member, has been arrested for shooting a black late-teen.  Whilst the public does not know what happened that night, racial demagogues have insisted that the shooting was a racist, murderous act. Fools rush to judgment.

Zimmerman's release on bail has resulted in a rise of vigilante sentiment.
