Good One

Thanks for the Boost

Christian schools have just received another significant fillip thoughtfully rendered by compulsory monopolistic state schools.  The authorities governing the latter have decided that gender neutrality and inclusiveness is the in-thing.  A growing number of parents will, for their part, decide that they want their children spared the mental degradation of  having to decide which toilet they ought to access.  They will thus become interested in sending their children to Christian schools or those schools where such vacuous inanity does not rule the roost.

This from the NZ Herald:

Schools have been asked to consider offering gender-neutral uniforms as part of new sexuality education guidelines aimed at being more inclusive.  Advice from the Ministry of Education, released yesterday, also suggested schools could review toilet spaces, allow same-sex partners at balls, and be aware of grouping students by gender in sports classes to help a more diverse range of students feel safe.

"While social attitudes to sexual diversity are becoming more inclusive in New Zealand, young people who identify as non-heterosexual still face many challenges in schooling environments," the guidelines said.  "Young people who identify as gay, lesbian, or bisexual often feel marginalised and isolated, and experience less inclusive environments in schools."  The new document comes after ongoing calls for better sex education in schools, and in response to recommendations from the 2013 Health Select Committee which found "fragmented and uneven programmes" in schools were partly to blame for the high teen pregnancy rate.

Christian schools are making their rejection of state sex education classes not just a point of differentiation from state-run social indoctrination, but a significant benefit.  More and more parents are agreeing.

Meanwhile, a bereft pupil in Manawatu Normal School has complained that nothing has changed with yesterday's announcement and that he/she will continue to be excluded.  Crazy Horse, who identifies as  equine,  said there is absolutely no acceptance or consideration given to pupils who choose to identify as non-human, but as an equine paraphiliac.
