Methinks I am a Dodo
When arrogant fools stand forth to deny the law of the Creator, whether inscribed in General Revelation (the lawbook of nature) or in Special Revelation (the lawbook of the Scriptures) it's hard to know whether to mock, deride, pity, or weep.
The current Canutist fad is to deny biological gender. Despite the genetic structure, who knows which of the 65 recently "discovered" and identified genders a newborn baby will eventually alight upon for a day or two? Therefore, when a baby is born, strict agnosticism is in order. But if someone were to insist that there is no certainty whatsoever that a baby actually is a human being, but that being itself is a choice--a future choice that the as-yet-unidentified-being will discover and eventually make--most would think folly and madness had crossed the stoop and sat down at the dining table. Most would be right.
Imagine the parental neglect and abuse arising out of the vain attempt to wait for the infant something-or-other to decide whether it were a bird, a dog, or a brontosaurus. Preposterous, we hear you say. Nothing like that would ever happen. Sorry. You missed the train. It has already left the station. Not only that--the idiocy is being celebrated by the rebellious talking heads of the age.
This from the BBC:
Of course exactly the same arguments can be deployed for "species identity". If a baby's own gender identity is a sovereign choice, without any influence let alone control from genes, then the same must hold true for species identity.
An eight-month old Canadian baby has been issued a health card without a gender marker, in what could be the first case in the world. Parent Kori Doty - a non-binary transgender person who identifies as neither male nor female - aims to allow the child to discover their own gender. The health card has been issued with a "U" in the space for "sex", which could be for "undetermined" or "unassigned".
Kori Doty is fighting to omit the gender from the birth certificate. The parent gave birth to Searyl Atli in November at a friend's home in British Columbia. Kori Doty, who prefers to use the pronoun they, argues that a visual inspection at birth is unable to determine what gender that person will have or identify with later in life. They want to keep Searyl's sex off all official records.
"I'm raising Searyl in in such a way that until they have the sense of self and command of vocabulary to tell me who they are, I'm recognising them as a baby and trying to give them all the love and support to be the most whole person that they can be outside of the restrictions that come with the boy box and the girl box," the parent was quoted by CBC as saying.
Kori Doty, a community educator who is part of the Gender-Free ID Coalition, said that those who feel different to the gender designation assigned at birth face several problems later in life trying to change their documents. "When I was born, doctors looked at my genitals and made assumptions about who I would be, and those assignments followed me and followed my identification throughout my life," Kori Doty said. "Those assumptions were incorrect, and I ended up having to do a lot of adjustments since then."
In the case of Searyl Atli, the parent said that the authorities have refused to issue the birth certificate without a gender designation and so the parent has applied for a judicial review of the case. The family's lawyer, barbara findlay, who chooses to spell her name without capital letters, told Global News: "The assignment of sex in this culture is done when a medical person lifts up the legs and looks at the baby's genitals. But we know that the baby's own gender identity will not develop for some years until after they're born."
In the caverns of Isengard, Saruman bred an army of orcs. The dominant zeitgeist of the West has commenced the same grand task. God's law, both natural and scriptural, be damned. "We are the fighting Uruk-Hai. I am Sexless. I am gender neutral Orc. I am Eagle. I am Panther. I am the great I Am." The disobedience and rebellion of Adam and Eve is coming to its logical end, its most extreme permutation. The Dark Lord is nudging the West into its last great rebellious act--before its inevitable collapse.
Are we Christians, then, discouraged? No, not for a moment. The Dark Lord, the Satan is a posturing blowhard. He has already been dethroned, and his doom is sure. There is a Deeper Magic. There is another song being sung. The mighty ones in the Divine Council are singing it. The Church on earth is singing it. Here are the lyrics:
Why do the nations rage
and the peoples plot in vain?
The kings of the earth set themselves,
and the rulers take counsel together,
against the Lord and against his Anointed, saying,
“Let us burst their bonds apart
and cast away their cords from us.”
He who sits in the heavens laughs;
the Lord holds them in derision.
Then he will speak to them in his wrath,
and terrify them in his fury, saying,
“As for me, I have set my King
on Zion, my holy hill.”
I will tell of the decree:
The Lord said to me, “You are my Son;
today I have begotten you.
Ask of me, and I will make the nations your heritage,
and the ends of the earth your possession.
You shall break them with a rod of iron
and dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel.”
Now therefore, O kings, be wise;
be warned, O rulers of the earth.
Serve the Lord with fear,
and rejoice with trembling.
Kiss the Son,
lest he be angry, and you perish in the way,
for his wrath is quickly kindled.
Blessed are all who take refuge in him. [Psalm 2]
