Hypocrisy at the Top

Ed Miliband's Hate-speech

Here's a bit of a hoot.  Ed Miliband, who may well become Britain's next Prime Minister, has made lots of promises to the Islamic community in the UK.  First of all, he promises to be a big tough guy cracking down on Islamophobia.  It is to be highlighted as a serious hate crime.
A future Labour Government is committed to outlaw the scourge of Islamophobia by changing the law and making it an aggravated crime, according to the Party’s Leader Ed Miliband.  “We are going to make it an aggravated crime. We are going to make sure it is marked on people’s records with the police to make sure they root out Islamophobia as a hate crime,” Miliband told the Editor of The Muslim News, Ahmed J Versi in a wide ranging exclusive interview.

“We are going to change the law on this so we make it absolutely clear of our abhorrence of hate crime and Islamophobia. It will be the first time that the police will record Islamophobic attacks right across the country,” he said.
What is Islamophobia, one may well ask?  Well, the word literally means "Fear of Islam".
So let's say a couple of school girls decide to migrate to Syria to join ISIS.  Let's say, further, that they have been encouraged to do so by a group of Islamic folk in the UK--maybe at the local mosque, maybe via social media.  Prime Minister Ed-the-talking-Horse will no doubt express horror and outrage at the actions of the girls.  Within an hour the police will be arresting him for his phobic attitude towards Islam and his hate speech.  Islamophobia, according to Ed, needs to be rooted out as a hate crime and that starts from the very top.  Off to the cells for Ed.

We note that the Editor of  The Muslim News was not fooled. He could see right through the rhetoric.
Throughout his interview, Miliband insisted that he took “extreme care” in what he said but it still did not stop him in using the generic term of “Islamist terrorism” and inferring the cause was religious rather than political when suggesting more than once it was based on “perverted ideology.”
The editor could sense the hate speech and Islamophobia lying just beneath Ed's thin skin.  But to give Ed his due, he's not just wound up about anti-Islamic hate speech.  There is a long list of verboten speech to be particularly criminalised.
Labour Party Manifesto pledged to take a “zero-tolerance approach to hate crime” regarding the growth of Islamophobia as well as anti-Semitism. “We will challenge prejudice before it grows, whether in schools, universities or on social media. And we will strengthen the law on disability, homophobic, and transphobic hate crime,” it said. [Emphasis, ours]
No doubt the hard core Islamic mosques and madrasses will continue to call for the obliteration of Israel.  Ed will naturally (not) insist that such speech must be criminalised as hate speech and hundreds of Islamic folk will be hauled off to jail.  And the loathing and mockery expressed towards Jewish people that takes place on a daily basis in some UK cities will become a thing of the past as state audio recorders detect the detested criminalised hate speech and "zero-tolerance" comes into effect.

One thing appears clear.  Ed and his Labour Party are more than a sandwich short of a picnic.  They have not thought their position through.  Official hypocrisy will become the norm if they are able to form the next UK government.  But there will be one common constant in it all: the Christian faith will be more and more outlawed and Christians will be hauled before the courts in greater and greater numbers as the police root out hate speech.  Welcome to the wonderful world of the madcap Left.
