Theologians of the Age

Butt Ends of Days and Ways

We are well aware that our society is ruled by a bunch of people whose god is the autonomy of their own minds.  We accept that pagans have for a time, at least, won the battle i the West.  We acknowledge that they believe we Christians live here at their pleasure.  All of that is par for the course when Christians are a small minority in a pagan establishment.

What is risible in the extreme, however, is when the pagans attempt to argue theology and tell us what Christianity ought to be about.  Even more risible is when they presume to lecture us about the teachings of our Lord Jesus Christ and turn them upon Him, calling good "evil" and evil "good".  Such hectoring misrepresents the commandments of our Lord and is rank dishonesty.  We have no truck with them.  Better to leave them in their own darkness.  Better to meet a bear robbed of her cubs than a fool taken in his folly.

In the UK the Anglican Church and the Roman Catholic Church are opposing the attempt to institutionalise homosexual "marriage".  The Greek chorus has come out in force.
Lynne Featherstone is the UK Equality Minister.  She tells us with unbridled passionate license that the churches are "homophobic" and that their leaders are expressing views that belong to the Dark Ages--as reported in Pink News.  Define the Dark Ages, dearie.  Is that the Age when hundreds of thousands of innocent children were murdered every year in the wombs of their mothers at the altar of the Goddess of Human Rights and Reason?  Oh, no, that's not what I meant at all.  That's not it at all.

Former Labour minister, Jack Straw deigns to lecture us about the Christian faith.  All the world's religions, this archbishop of sanctimonious piosity tells us, live on the high ethical plane of "doing unto others what you would have done to you".  He grandly informs us that this is largely what Jesus Christ Himself taught.  Since hetero-sexual people have a right to live in the institution of holy marriage, so ought homosexuals.  Oh, spare us the pseudo-religio-socio-babble.  You have not the first idea of the teaching of our Lord.  You, Mr Straw are one of those self-deceived fools who presumes to cut and dice, misrepresenting and slandering our Lord as an easy tool of your own devices.

But for the record, let's just make it clear.  Human beings have no rights, except those granted to them by God Himself.  Homosexuality is a sinful perversion, on a par with other forms of human depravity such as adultery, bestiality, necrophilia, paedophilia and sado-masochism.  God does not grant human beings, created in His image, the right to live in evil.  To assert, as Mr Straw has done, that Jesus' ethical principle of doing unto others as you would have them do unto you means that people have a "right" to live in gross perversion is itself perverse.

But you get that when fools try to use the Messiah as a mere rhetorical device to serve their own ends.  Jack Straw is going to die and after that will come his judgment.  He is going to have to spit out all the butt ends of his days and ways, explaining his "theology" to the King of all kings, face to face.  He is going to have to answer the charge of having lifted up the Name of Christ unto vanity, publicly misrepresenting Him and slandering Him.  The warning to Mr Straw--and us all--could not be more clear: "the Lord will not hold him guiltless who takes His Name in vain".

The only hope for Mr Straw and his ilk now is that they repent in dust and ashes before it is too late.  We already have.
