Since the Renaissance this has been responsible, among other evils, for the distortion of history, the loss of women’s rights and their former place in learning and in society and government, the reintroduction of slavery in the 16th century, the development of absolute property rights, the oppression of the poor, and the growth of totalitarian jealous governments which oppose religious loyalty to family or the real God.
