ContraCelsum Backup

Dear Reader: Although Google professes to have a policy of free speech, there are now disturbing examples of Google peremptorily shutting down blogs on the Blogger platform espousing views which (presumably) Google wants to censor. Therefore ContraCelsum has set up a mirror blog via WordPress (http://contracelsum.com/). We update the latter weekly. If this site should suddenly go dark, you will find ContraCelsum alive and well at the above address. You may want to bookmark it now (just in case).

Douglas Wilson's Letter From America

A Carnival of Pillage

And thus all have confessed that no government can be happily established unless piety is the first concern; and that those laws are preposterous which neglect God's right and provide only for men (Calvin, Institutes 4.20.9).
And, as we see unfolding in Congress right this minute, a group of men who have no fear of God before their eyes will certainly not care two cents for the rights of the citizens. So it is long past time for Christians to abandon their long cherished and idolatrous delusion that good government is possible for us without explicit submission to Jesus Christ. The Congress is descending into a carnival of pillage, and where is the man to stand in the gap to say, "God forbids this"?

"Which God?" they sneer.

The Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who governs the world through the Holy Spirit of Christ.
